Cyber Security Specialist

Cyber Security Specialist will identify and remediate control deficiencies and security vulnerabilities. Experience in identifying and mitigating security risks in hardware and software.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in development and implementation of Cybersecurity policies and directives, including Standard Operating Procedures and Procedure Work instructions in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) compliancy.
  • Perform RMF package development and assessment including providing expert guidance and training to stakeholders to ensure successful Assessment and Authorization for Information Systems.
  • Provide documentation to support the cyber security and accreditation to include RMD
  • Mitigate security risks to operating systems, application programs, Web sites, database management systems and other required products.
  • Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Monitor and evaluate systems compliance with Cybersecurity policies and guidance.
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities, reporting violations.
  • Implements security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
  • Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
  • Keeps users informed by preparing performance reports, communicating system status.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education
  • 4+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Preferred DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certified (Security+ CE or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data and other attack artifacts.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
  • Familiarity with the DOD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program.
  • Proficiency with antivirus and security software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.
Clearance: Interim Secret security clearance
Full Time Exempt
