- Write Java-based applications
- Migrate existing server loads to Amazon Web Services
- Containerize existing applications with Docker
- Work across the stack to deliver new features from start-to-end
- Improve performance and overcome scalability limits
- Build security-first, distributed applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in a technical position
- 4+ years of experience writing web applications on Amazon Web Services
- CompTIA Security + certified or can obtain within 60 days of employment
- Proficient with Java 8+ lambda, streams, and concurrency
- Proficient with the Spring framework
- Competent with Docker
- Competent with unit and integration test planning and implementation
- Experienced with writing secure code
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Proficient with Spring Boot with embedded Tomcat
- Competent with front-end frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue)
- Competent with Kubernetes (stand-alone, ECS, or EKS)
- Competent with UML and technical documentation
- Experienced integrating applications to use Kafka
- Experienced integrating applications to use Elasticseach
- Experienced with Redhat Enterprise Linux shell scripting
- Good record of project leadership and mentorship of software engineers
